Mothers day is coming up on Sunday 26 March, but don’t panic if you haven’t got a gift yet, we’ve got the perfect idea and the best part is you can make it yourself on a budget!
Mother’s day is all about celebrating that special lady in your life, your mother. She’s the one who raised you, taught you life skills and watched patiently while you made mistakes she told you not to! On a day that’s especially for your mum why not do something extra special and make her a gift that not only looks great but tastes delicious too?!
This cupcake bouquet is easy to make and looks great too!
How do you make it?
In a large bowl mix all your dry ingredients together including flour, light brown sugar, white sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Melt your butter and leave to cool. While it’s cooling combine all your wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Your wet ingredients include buttermilk, egg and vanilla extract.
Begin to combine your wet and dry ingredients and mix, then just as it’s starting to come together add in your butter and mix it together until you have a smooth batter of equal consistency.
Once you have your batter prepared set out your cupcake cases on a tray and begin to fill them ¾ full. Ideally you want green cupcake cases so that they look like a bouquet, although any cup cake cases will do.
Bake the cakes at 350 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes or until golden brown.
