Ever since James Corden got celebrities in his car to do a bit of singing for his “Carpool Karaoke” segment on the Late Late Show people around the world have been inspired to join in and get in their own cars for a bit of a sing along.
Senior Living Communities, an organization that owns retirement homes across the US decided to get in on the action too and create their own official Valentine’s Day edition of “Carpool Karaoke”, where some of their residents from the communities would get in a car and sing some of the most recent pop hits. The idea already sounds amazing, but what happens when they get in the car is even better than you’d imagine!
The driver introduces himself and the 3 passengers in the car. The passengers, who are all members of Senior Living Communities, are dressed for the occasion with valentine’s themed glasses, hats and bobble headbands, and you can tell that they are going to be up for some fun!
The driver starts by interviewing them in the “Carpool Karaoke” style way and asking them who their celebrity crush is. The ladies in the back answer with Matthew McConaughey and James Taylor, suggesting that they wouldn’t mind getting a kiss from them!
Then the music starts the familiar intro to Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe, and the car bursts into song! It’s incredible, the senior citizens are giving it their all and they even have the words printed out so that they can be sure to get the words right!
